This is a very interesting article, despite, I see, that I reach it over a year since its writing.

I work in the Bordeaux trade in London, basically of Classed Growths, where the brand name takes precedence over the usual considerations in growing wine, such as the vagaries of the vintage.

Having spent most of my time working with small growers in Spain, it is refreshing to see such detailed publication on some of the more meaningful aspects of the Bordeaux trade.

I did not know of the "prix-fait" (fixed price?) system, very interesting.

So well stated, Christian! It was such a fantastic evening! If the reader can imagine the pleasure of being transported from the busy indoor Vinexpo to the gorgeous trees and blue skies of Chateau Pichon Longueville, and then to the state-of-the-art cellar where the wineries set up their tables and wine ...

... and following the tasting the incredible feast of exquisite "bites" such as cervice, cod, the world's finest almonds ...

... and of course, seeing so many friends from the industry ...

... I was seated with Bernardo Gouvea fro Companhia Das Quintas, what a fabulous dinner companion, and also seated with many award-winning sommeliers and AXA friends from past visits.

... and Lynne Sherriff MW (Chairman of the Institute of Masters of Wine) giving such a delightful talk ...

Truly magical evening!

Dear Mr. Seely,
Best wishes for a very healty & prosperious year. I look to your harvest report in detail about Bordeaux, just a descreption of each grape and the way you act to come to a final blend for your wine(s).

I admire your way of management and would be very interested to learn from you.

Dear Mr.Seely,
congratulations on your Blog.
I'm from Brazil and I really love good wines.
I always invite some good friends who love wine as much as myself to make some different experiences, just for fun.
In the next time we will taste some special Cabernet wines from diferent parts of the world, and I'd like to know if there are bordeaux wines that have been made with more than 80% of Cabernet Sauvignon in it's composition, and which fit this category.
If you can help me with this information i will be very gratefull.

yours truly,
A. Franco
